In the title game,  Mc’Donald’s jumped out to a quick 1-0 lead in the top half of the first inning. Kara Osika doubled to start the game and came around to score on an RBI single from Sarah Paparella. Holmes finished the day with 6 strikeouts for the winners.

After the initial scare in the top of the first, it was all the Meehan’s hitting machine revved up, scoring 5 runs in the bottom of the 1st, 5 more in the bottom of the 2nd and 3 more in the bottom of the 3rd to put the title game away. McDonald’s, showing no signs of surrender, plated 3 runs in a big top of the third inning for the kids in yellow and red.

After the game, Meehan’s Head Coach Duff Holmes told Mid-York Sports that he couldn’t be more proud of his girls, adding “I have been telling the kids all season long, if you play smart and use your head in every game, you’ll win, it’s the players that use their brain that come out on top and they did that this season”.
