Syracuse –  The Sauquoit Valley Indians and Ogdensburg Free Academy Blue Devils opened the National Football Federation 2018 Kickoff Classic with a non-league game in the Carrier Dome on Thursday and it was all Ogdensburg from the get go.

Ogdensburg got touchdowns from seven different players, all on running plays and went on to blank Sauquoit by a score of 55-0.

The Blue Devils, the 2017 Section 10, Class C Champions, hit the scorching hot turf in the Dome running and never looked back, opening up a 28-0 lead in the first quarter, largely fueled by Sauquoit Valley turnovers and a huge kickoff team miscue.

Devils quarterback Michael Reed scored on runs of 14 and 47 yards for Ogdensburg, along with a 27 yard TD run by Wyatt Kirby and a 15 yarder by MeSean Johnson, in the first quarter alone.

Ogdensburg, which finished the 2017 campaign as the 11th ranked Class C team in New York, got touchdown dashes from Steven Morley and Tristan Lovely in the second quarter, taking a 42-0 lead to the intermission.

John Powers and Mitchell Brenno tacked on third and fourth quarter scores respectively for Ogdensburg to cap the big shutout win in the Dome.

Ethan Martin earned Most Valuable Player honors for Sauquoit Valley (0-1), who return home on Friday, September 7th to take on Westmoreland.
