Mohawk Valley Community College freshman Dante Migliore trails by two strokes after shooting 75 during Thursday’s third round of the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Golf Championships at Chautaugua Golf Club.

Migliore led the tournament entering the third round after posting consecutive 1-over 73s. During a cool and extremely breezy day, Migliore held it together and sits in second place with a total of 221. He’s just two strokes back of leader Jacob Bartley of Vincennes University. Bartley shot an impressive 1-under round of 71 in tough conditions.

Migliore tied for 7th at the 2015 New York State Public High School Championships and was MVCC Athlete of the Week in mid May after winning the Region III Golf Championship at Cornell University’s Robert Trent Jones Golf Course.

West Canada Valley’s Bobby Davenport, a freshman teammate of Migliore, shot 86 Thursday and is tied for 44th. Sam Tornatore, a Whitesboro graduate who plays at Onondaga Community College, is tied for 41st with a 243 total.

Vincennes leads the team competition by 30 strokes over Minnesota State Community Tech.
