Top Seeded Generals; 2nd Seeded Hawks On Collision Course

Herkimer, NY – Herkimer College will host the 2019 Region III Men’s Basketball Final Four on Saturday and Sunday, March 2nd and 3rd.

The Generals, who earned the #1 seed in the tournament, go into the Final Four with a record of 26-1 and are currently on a 23 game winning streak. Herkimer secured their spot in the tournament with a 91-64 win over #8 seed Columbia-Greene on Tuesday night. The win was the 400th in Coach Matt Lee’s career at Herkimer.

All games will be broadcast live on ESPN Radio, 96.5 FM and ESPNUR.COM .

Herkimer will play in the first regional semifinal on Saturday at 2:00 p.m. against the #5 seeded Corning Community College Barons. The second regional semifinal will match #2 seed Mohawk Valley against #6 seeded Fulton-Montgomery Community College at 4:00 p.m.

The winners of Saturday’s semifinals will meet on Sunday, March 3rd at 2:00 p.m. in Herkimer’s varsity gym for the Region III Championship. The winner of that game will represent Region III in the 2019 NJCAA Division III Men’s Basketball National Championships in Rochester, Minnesota from March 14th-16th.
