Syracuse – The Notre Dame Jugglers looked invincible in the first 16 minutes of tonight’s Section 3, Class AA Boy’s Basketball Semifinal against the top seeded Corcoran Cougars.
Jaylen Warmack was on fire early, scoring 20 points to send the Jugglers into the intermission with a commanding 37-22 lead.
The third quarter saw the Cougars come out of the locker room a totally different team, riding a full court press defense and roaring back to within 6 points, at 50-44 by the time the dust settled on the 3rd quarter, led by Daimarr Miller’s 16 points.
Jugglers head coach Ryan Goux was able to settle his team down after the third quarter however, which allowed Notre Dame to refocus and play much more within themselves in the final quarter, as opposed to the much more chaotic style of the Cougars, allowing Notre Dame to hold on for the 63-50 victory.
The Jugglers (16-6) advance to play 2nd seeded West Genesee, who defeated RFA earlier in the evening, for the Section 3 Class AA Championship next Sunday in the Carrier Dome.
Jaylen Warmack finished he night with 30 points to lead all scorers, while Corcoran’s Daimarr Miller scored 27 to lead the Cougars, who finished the season at (19-2).
