Camden Completes Perfect CSC-Central Sweep

Camden  –  The Camden Lady Blue Devils Field Hockey Team celebrated senior night on Wednesday, scoring five second half goals to top New Hartford, 8-0, completing a perfect (10-0) regular Season in the Center State Conference – Central Division.

Alyssa Curtis notched her Section III leading 33rd, 34th and 35th goals of the season to lead Camden.

Camden is now (13-2) overall and will conclude its regular season with a non-league tilt at “AA” Fayetteville-Manlius on Saturday.

The Lady Spartans, who finished the regular season at (4-6) in the CSC-Central, held the Lady Devils  to three goals in the first half, despite spending most of it in their own end. New Hartford goalie Rebekah Stolo finished the evening with 9 saves, on 17 shots.

Camden also received a goal and three assist from veteran forward Liz Link, along with 2 goals from Kendra Walker, 2 goals and an assist from Abby Meagher and a goal and two assists from Kendall Keil.

Camden goalie Tiffany Viale picked up her 8th shutout of the season, stopping 1 New Hartford shot.

Both schools will qualify for the Section III Tournament, which begins on 10/21.

Camden is the defending Section III Champion, will be a # 1 seed in the tournament and is looking to improve on reaching the NYSPHSAA Sub-Regional a year ago.

Prior to tonight’s game, a big crowd was on hand as Camden said farewell to eleven seniors: Meghan Coughlin, Alyssa Curtis, Morgan Gerber, Leslie Graham, Allison Hanvey, Kendall Keil, Liz Link, Abby Meagher, Lauren Vera, Tiffany Viale and Kendra Walker.
